Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking a First-Class Electrician to lay out, install, and repair shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, powering weapons and combat systems. The role requires reading marine drawings and following safety standards in a dynamic shipyard environment.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in commercial/industrial/marine electrical work, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to interpret schematics using metric and standard measurements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the commercial, industrial or marine electrical field.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Read and interpret marine drawings and/or blueprints using both metric and standard measurements.

Responsibilities

• Layout, installation and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ships power.
• Utilize hand and power tools, test equipment, and blueprints; work in various heights and confined spaces.
• Possibly work day or night shifts depending on construction workload and safety procedures.
