Qualifications

• National certification as Surgical Technologist (CST) by NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - NCCT certification is required
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification
• Three years of recent diversified surgical technology experience

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile technique and uses specialized instrumentation for a variety of procedures.
• Anticipates and prioritizes steps during surgery.
• Assists with sponge, needle and instrument counts as dictated by the procedure.
• Maintains surgical specimens for pathology evaluation.
• Assists in ordering and stocking of specialty supplies under supervision.
• Performs under the direct supervision of the operating surgeon.
