Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital - Bartlett Hospital is seeking a Surgical First Assistant to support the surgeon with exposure, hemostasis, and closure, including preoperative and postoperative duties to optimize patient care.

The role requires graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited program, 3 years scrub/assisting experience, BLS, Surgical Technology and Surgical First Assistant certifications, and active licensure or registration as required by law.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program.
• 3 years scrub and/or assisting experience.
• BLS, Surgical Technology certification.
• Surgical First Assistant certification.
• Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and intraoperative technical functions.
• Ensure appropriate equipment is available for procedures.
• Review permit to confirm procedure.
• Assist in moving and positioning patient.
• Provide assistance throughout the procedure in various surgical techniques.
