Job summary

Invited is seeking a 1st Assistant Superintendent in Dearborn, MI to lead daily golf course maintenance and coordinate staff. You will oversee irrigation, turf care, and equipment, ensuring optimal playing conditions and safety. This role requires experience in budgeting, scheduling, and supervising a small crew.

As the key liaison with the Superintendent, you will manage inventories, supplier relationships, and record-keeping while maintaining compliance with regulations and Club standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in Turf Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance.
• Minimum 1 year of experience providing input and knowledge of budget control expectations.
• Minimum 1 year of technical knowledge of equipment and tasks related to Spray and Irrigation Technicians, Landscape Foreman, Greens Keeper, Equipment Operator, and Mechanic positions.
• Current State Pesticide Applicators License or completion within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily golf course operations and coordinate staff to meet maintenance goals.
• Approve leave, manage schedules, and ensure timely submission of timecards.
• Collaborate with the Superintendent on hiring and training using ATS.
• Supervise crew to ensure high-quality turf maintenance and safety standards.
• Assess ground conditions and set maintenance priorities to maintain course standards.
• Oversee mowing, spraying, and turf care operations with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization.
• Manage inventories of chemicals, fertilizers, and supplies with proper records.
• Assist in planning and budgeting, track expenses, and code invoices correctly.
• Maintain logs on irrigation, water use, weather data, and personnel records.
• Program and adjust daily irrigation cycles; coordinate preventive maintenance with Mechanic.
• Assist in agronomy planning and operating budget management.
