Job summary

North Atlantic Surgical Suites is hiring a full-time Surgical Tech First Assist in an ambulatory center focused on total knee/hip replacement and spine cases. The role emphasizes assisting surgeons, managing instruments, and maintaining sterile technique.

Eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Education includes High School Diploma, Surgical Technician Program, and CSFA certification, with orthopedic CSFA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program.
• NBSTSA Surgical First Assistant Certification required.
• Two years of CSFA experience in an orthopedic setting recommended.
• Familiar with medical terminology related to anatomy and OR procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons by arranging and handing instruments.
• holding incisions and dressing wounds as needed.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with patient positioning.
• Provide support to OR team to ensure efficient procedures.

SPECIALTIES:

• Total Hip and Knee Replacement
• Surgeries of the Lumbar and Cervical Spine including Kyphoplasty & Vertebroplasty

Job Summary:

A Surgical First assistant plays a vital role in a successful surgical procedure. They are primarily in charge of assisting surgeons, such as by arranging and handing over tools, holding open incisions, and dressing surgical wounds. No Weekends, No Major Holidays & No Call Required.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma / GED
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program.
• NBSTSA Surgical First Assistant Certification required.
• Two years of Certified Surgical First Assistant experience in an orthopedic setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other skills and abilities: General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures in an operating room.
