Job summary

Astronics CSC is seeking a Quality Inspector for First Article Inspection (FAI) to ensure compliance with AS9102 and the company's Quality Management System. You will verify drawings, certificates of conformance, and test data, and deliver complete FAI packages to engineering and customers.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in manufacturing, strong math and communication skills, and experience with inspection tools. This role includes comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Read and understand process documents and industry standards.
• Team player with good written and oral communication in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to shift/assess/manage priorities as required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
• Basic math skills (fractions, decimals).
• Basic computer skills; proficient with MS Office.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and cable/wire drawings.

Responsibilities

• Measure parts per drawings, prints or specs.
• Fill out forms and templates with inspection results.
• Gather documentation as evidence of FAI (First Article Inspection).
• Create and communicate FAI results to involved parties.
• Escalate discrepancies through proper channels.
• Support inspection processes across the site.
• Inspect and verify documentation tied to received parts (CoC, certifications, drawings, test reports).
• Perform in-process inspections per work instructions and blueprints.
• Verify electrical test setup and final test results.
• Perform final inspection for compliance with CoC and customer docs.
• Deliver inspection reports and communicate results.
• Use inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, meters) to verify specs.
• Follow escalation processes for quality or supplier issues.
• Create, verify, and deliver labels to manufacturing.
