Job summary

Axius Group, LLC is seeking a First Article Inspector to support aerospace manufacturing by performing First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102. This role ensures parts, assemblies, and processes comply with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements prior to production release.

Strong experience in aerospace inspection, blueprint reading, and documentation, with deep knowledge of quality systems and regulatory compliance standards, is required.

Qualifications

• Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102.
• Strong aerospace inspection experience with attention to drawing/spec validation.
• Thorough knowledge of quality systems and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements
• Review drawings, specs, and customer requirements for compliance
• Complete AS9102 Forms 1, 2, and 3 with traceability
• Verify dimensional, material, and special process requirements
• Ensure certification documents (COCs, material certifications) are accurate
• Conduct inspections with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges
• Review CMM reports to validate dimensional compliance
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Quality teams to resolve issues
• Support corrective action investigations (RCCA/8D) as needed

Must have strong experience in aerospace inspection, blueprint reading, and documentation, with a deep understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance standards.

The First Article Inspector to support aerospace manufacturing operations by performing comprehensive First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements. This role ensures that manufactured parts, assemblies, and processes fully comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements prior to production release. Must have strong experience in aerospace inspection, blueprint reading, and documentation, with a deep understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance standards.
Essential Functions

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to validate compliance
• Complete AS9102 Forms 1, 2, and 3 with full traceability documentation
• Verify dimensional, material, and special process requirements
• Ensure certification documentation (Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, special process certifications) is complete and accurate
• Conduct detailed inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.)
• Review CMM reports to validate dimensional compliance
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve discrepancies
• Support corrective action investigations (RCCA/8D) as required
• Maintain accurate inspection records in compliance with AS9100 quality standards
• Participate in internal and external audits as needed
• Promote adherence to aerospace regulatory and customer-specific requirements
