Job summary

Eaton's Residential Wiring Device division is seeking a Firmware Engineering Intern / Co-op in Moon Township, PA. The role offers a rotational co-op assignment or a Summer 2027 internship, with an hourly rate of $22.15–$27.69.

Responsibilities include firmware and software development for embedded systems and support for certification activities. Qualified candidates must be enrolled in CS/CE, with a 3.0+ GPA and graduation by Aug 2029.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar.
• Graduation no later than August 2029.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Relocation is not provided; candidate must be located within 50 miles of Moon Township, PA.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to firmware and software development for embedded systems/microcontrollers.
• Support software development using code repositories, code reviews, build servers, and agile methods.
• Stay abreast of market trends and emerging technologies globally, with emphasis on embedded and connected systems, and evaluate impact on Eaton’s business.
• Support the research and development of business cases in the new product development cycle to understand viability of proposed products.
• Support enhancement of existing products and services based on evaluations of existing and new technologies per Eaton’s strategic plans.
• Represent Eaton’s interests on councils and committees developing codes and standards for emerging technologies in which Eaton is investing.
• Support and perform technical evaluations of third‑party solutions and assess opportunities to develop partnerships or identify new suppliers.
• Support product certification activities, including UL/CSA.
