Eaton’s Residential Wiring Device division is seeking a Firmware Engineering Intern / Co-op in Moon Township, PA. This role can be a rotational co-op or a Summer 2027 internship. The hourly rate ranges from $22.15 to $27.69, based on skills and experience.

You will contribute to firmware and software development for embedded systems, support code reviews and build processes, and stay informed on trends in embedded and connected electronics. Relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with graduation by Aug 2029.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• No immigration sponsorship or CPT/OPT/STEM OPT for this position.
• Relocation not provided; candidate must be within 50 miles of Moon Township, PA.
• Interview process may include video and in-person steps.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to firmware and software development for embedded systems/microcontrollers.
• Support software development using code repositories, code reviews, and build servers; follow agile methods.
• Stay updated on market trends in embedded and connected systems and evaluate impact on Eaton’s business.
• Assist in researching and developing business cases during new product development cycles.
• Support product certification activities (UL/CSA) and third-party assessments.
• Represent Eaton on councils/committees developing codes and standards for emerging technologies.
