Job summary

Base is hiring a firmware engineering intern to build core firmware for distributed batteries and inverters. You will work on low-level software that runs on real hardware, with direct exposure to embedded systems across our fleet.

You’ll read schematics, learn to interpret datasheets, and contribute to fault detection, reliability, and grid-balancing controls while shipping real code that affects live power flows.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of C/C++ and embedded systems concepts.
• Experience with microcontrollers, RTOS, sensor integration, or power electronics.
• Interest in how real systems behave, including timing, interrupts, and debugging hardware.

Responsibilities

• Build core firmware in C/C++ on bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux systems.
• Develop and debug device drivers and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Collaborate with hardware and platform engineers to ensure end-to-end reliability.
