Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking an undergraduate Firmware Engineering Intern to support the design, testing, and implementation of firmware for power conversion and control products. The role offers hands-on experience in product development and lab testing at our Eden Prairie, MN site.

You will work with experienced engineers on embedded software, debug features, and validation, gaining exposure to cross-functional collaboration and documentation practices typical in a growing, global company.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support firmware development projects as part of a cross-functional engineering team.
• Develop, test, and debug embedded software for power conversion and control products.
• Assist with implementation of new firmware features and enhancements.
• Perform firmware validation and verification testing in both laboratory and production environments.
• Troubleshoot embedded systems using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
• Collect, analyze, and document test results.
• Support integration of firmware with hardware components and system-level applications.
• Assist with implementation and debugging of communication interfaces and protocols.
• Participate in software code reviews and design discussions.
• Develop technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering reports.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
