Base, America’s next-generation power company in Austin, TX, is seeking a Hardware Engineering Intern to join our team. You’ll work with senior engineers across mechanical and electrical design, from early prototyping to production support.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with batteries, inverters, and interconnection devices, contribute to tests and documentation, and help solve real-world thermal and performance challenges.

Qualifications

  • Current junior or senior undergraduate or graduate student in engineering, physics, math, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical or mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Hands-on hardware development interest and ability to build functional hardware.
  • Experience with CAD design is a plus.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design, simulate, build, and test electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Participate in hands-on prototyping, debugging, and iterative testing of hardware.
  • Support R&D and production efforts from breadboard to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Help diagnose and solve performance, thermal, and integration issues.
  • Contribute to system documentation, test procedures, and design reviews.
