Job summary

Monarch Quantum is seeking a Firmware Engineer 2 in San Diego to help build foundational FPGA/embedded systems. The role involves designing FPGA-based solutions, creating robust interfaces to ADCs/DACs/uCs, and developing data acquisition and health monitoring systems.

You will collaborate with firmware, hardware, and software teams, participate in code reviews, and document work clearly while thriving in a fast-paced startup setting that values initiative and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA based solutions utilizing hybrid C/C++ microprocessor and HDL fabric architectures.
• Design and develop robust component interfaces to ADCs, DACs, uC, etc.
• Design and develop complex data acquisition and analysis systems to monitor system/sub-system health.
• Perform integration and verification testing of integrated hardware and firmware platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including firmware, hardware, and software engineers.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and adhere to best coding practices.
• Maintain clear and well-structured documentation.
• Work independently and in a team while over communicating with the manager, project engineer, and the teammates.
• Use tenacity, patience, self-discipline, and passion for excellence to assure accuracy of execution schedule, data quality/integrity, conformance to company best practices, clarity in communication, and documentation.
