Job summary

BTS Software Solutions is seeking a Firmware Engineer – Embedded Controls / Sensors to join the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate at Aberdeen Proving Ground. You will design, develop, and debug embedded firmware for gimbals, optics, sensors, and actuators in support of national security missions.

The role requires hands-on experience with C/C++, microcontrollers, RTOS or bare‑metal development, and the ability to read schematics and datasheets to modify firmware and integrate

Qualifications

• Experience developing or modifying embedded firmware in C/C++ or similar low-level languages.
• Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems, interrupts, timers, memory management and hardware interfaces.
• Experience debugging firmware with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and debug embedded firmware for gimbals, optics, motors, sensors and actuators.
• Integrate firmware with hardware across cross-functional teams to deliver reliable control systems.
