Job summary

BTS Software Solutions seeks a Firmware Engineer - Embedded Controls / Sensors to develop firmware for advanced hardware at Aberdeen Proving Ground. You will work on gimbals, optics, motors, sensors, and related subsystems, integrating hardware and software across teams.

Ideal candidates understand real‑time embedded systems, hardware interfaces, and debugging with lab equipment. Security clearance and hands‑on problem solving are valued assets for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in C/C++ for embedded firmware development.
• Experience with microcontrollers, embedded processors, or SoCs.
• Knowledge of interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, PWM, ADC/DAC.
• Experience building firmware for motors, actuators, sensors, optics, gimbals or similar electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify embedded firmware for advanced hardware systems used in national security missions.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, imaging systems and control hardware.
• Read schematics, datasheets, and interface control documents to understand and modify firmware.
