Job summary

BTS Software Solutions in Aberdeen Proving Ground seeks a Firmware Engineer to design, modify, and debug firmware for embedded hardware used in national security missions.

Work with sensors, gimbals, motors, and optics, integrating hardware and software to deliver reliable real-time performance. Candidates should have TS/SCI clearance and hands-on experience with C/C++, microcontrollers, and hardware interfaces.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience with embedded firmware in C/C++.
• Experience with microcontrollers or SoCs and peripherals.
• Experience interfacing SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, PWM, or ADC/DAC.
• Experience with motors, actuators, sensors, optics, gimbals or similar systems.
• Strong RTOS/real-time systems understanding.
• Experience debugging firmware with lab equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, datasheets, and firmware.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify embedded firmware for hardware systems.
• Work with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate sensors and control hardware.
• Design, modify, and debug low‑level software for embedded processors.
• Troubleshoot complex system behavior across hardware/firmware boundary.
