CIS Secure is seeking a Firmware Engineer – Embedded Controls / Sensors to join the REACT program at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. You will develop and modify firmware for embedded hardware such as gimbals, optics, motors, and sensors to enable new capabilities and system integration.

The role requires working with cross-disciplinary teams, debugging complex firmware/hardware interactions, and ensuring high reliability in critical national security applications.

Competenze

• Experience developing or modifying embedded firmware in C/C++ or similar low-level languages.
• Experience with microcontrollers, embedded processors, or SoCs and peripheral interfaces.
• Experience interfacing with hardware using SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, PWM, ADC/DAC.
• Experience firmware for motors, actuators, sensors, gimbals, or other electromechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems, interrupts, timers, memory management, and hardware interfaces.
• Experience debugging firmware and hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, and lab equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, datasheets, interface control documents, and existing firmware.

Mansioni

• Design, modify, and debug low-level software on embedded processors and microcontrollers.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate sensors and control hardware.
• Modify existing firmware, develop new functionality, and troubleshoot cross boundary issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
