Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America in Columbus, IN, is seeking a Firmware Development Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This on-site internship offers hands-on experience in the New Product Development department, focusing on firmware programming, embedded software development, and embedded system testing.

You will collaborate with the Firmware Development and Firmware Test teams, mentors, and leadership to build skills that launch your career in the industrial equipment sector.

Qualifications

• GPA of at least 3.0 and enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Basic understanding of embedded systems and firmware testing.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop software utility tools to support firmware testing and integrate with test environments.
• Create and execute tests against product requirements on test fixtures and forklifts.
• Support troubleshooting and debugging to identify, reproduce, and resolve firmware issues.
• Gain hands-on experience with the embedded software development process.
• Collaborate with firmware development, firmware test, systems engineering, and product teams to support New Product Development activities.
