Job summary

Emerson in Houston is seeking a motivated engineering student for an internship focused on embedded firmware development. You will apply technical expertise to design and develop firmware, and prepare detailed plans spanning weeks to months.

You will troubleshoot with tests, work with cross-functional teams, and participate in design reviews. The program emphasizes hands-on experience, mentorship, and a path to professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise, commensurate with formal training and job experience in the design and development of embedded firmware
• Prepare detailed plans, generally spanning several weeks to months, necessary to complete assignments.
• Troubleshoot and debug the Software using unit tests, Emulators, Simulators, IDE, and bench testing
• Provide process improvements & recommendations
• Work with internal cross-functional teams to understand firmware requirements
• Perform functional integration testing prior to hand-off to the test & evaluation team
• Conduct software design reviews on assigned projects
