Job summary

Ozark's Modern Insulation, part of the Installed Building Products family, seeks a Fireplace Installer/Service Tech to install and service fireplaces at customer sites in Missouri. You will follow manufacturer specs, coordinate with customers, manage parts and inventory, and maintain safety compliance.

The role requires physical stamina, a valid Class E license, and the ability to perform basic data entry. Company offers benefits and growth opportunities within the IBP family.

Qualifications

  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to perform computer data entry with proficiency.
  • Maintain a valid Class E driver's license.
  • Knowledge of installing or repairing gas, wood-burning, or pellet fireplaces is a plus.
  • Experience in finish carpentry or residential construction preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install fireplaces per manufacturer specifications and local codes.
  • Service and repair fireplaces; troubleshoot with manufacturers' tech teams.
  • Communicate with customers to arrange service calls and installs.
  • Order and receive fireplaces and fireplace parts.
  • Manage fireplace inventory and staging of orders.
  • Inform suppliers and customers about order status and lead times.
  • Keep work trucks clean and orderly.
  • Collaborate with office manager on paperwork for fireplace jobs.
  • Keep up with email and software systems daily.
  • Site clean-up after installation.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and state code enforcement.
  • Retain DOT Medical Examination Card.
  • Report installation and final setbacks to supervisor.
  • Complete labor detail sheets weekly.
  • Safely load materials and tools.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of fireplaces per manufacturer specifications and local codes
  • Servicing and repairing fireplaces (troubleshooting with manufacturers tech teams to diagnose issues and remedy properly)
  • Communicating with customers to arrange service calls and installs
  • Ordering and receiving fireplaces and fireplace parts
  • Managing fireplace inventory and staging orders
  • Communicating with suppliers and customers to update them on order status and lead times
  • Keeping work trucks clean and orderly
  • Managing paperwork for all fireplace related jobs in collaboration with office manager
  • Keeping up with email and software systems on a daily basis
  • Jobsite clean-up after completion of installation.
  • Installing products to manufacturer specifications.
  • Following state code enforcement
  • Proper care and use of tools
  • Submitting installation photos to supervisor.
  • Complete provided educational training is needed.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards.
  • Retain DOT Medical Examination Card.
  • Report installation and final setbacks to the supervisor
  • Complete labor detail sheets weekly.
  • Complete ladder check daily in monthly.
  • Safely and securely load material and tools.

Physical Demands The role of a Fireplace Installer/ Service Tech requires physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks on rooftops, in crawl spaces, and in varying environmental conditions.
