Mozilla Corporation in the United States is seeking an experienced performance-focused engineer to own end-to-end browser performance, collaborating across teams to optimize speed on Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux.

You will work on profiling, multithreading, and writing fast code in C++/JavaScript, contributing to the Firefox engine and performance roadmap, with a distributed, open-source culture.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS or CE with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Strong C++ expertise required
• Experience with performance-critical software
• Profiling tools: VTune, Xperf
• Ability to work in a distributed team and communicate effectively
• Experience with multithreading or GPU/IO

Responsibilities

• Write code and tests, profile and analyze performance bottlenecks
• Learn across a large, evolving codebase
• Use C++, JavaScript to fix performance issues
• Educate engineers on writing more performant code
• Break down complex problems into actionable steps and drive to completion
• Partner with engineering teams to support performance efforts
• Contribute to performance benchmarks and roadmap
• Own the performance of a significant browser area end-to-end
