Job description

Responsibilities

• Write code and tests, build prototypes, and analyze performance bottlenecks
• Use C++, JavaScript, Kotlin, Rust, and Python to fix performance issues
• Educate other engineers on writing performant code through reviews and documentation
• Independently define and drive actionable next steps from high-level objectives
• Lead performance efforts across various engineering teams
• Shape the future of performance benchmarks and set priorities for improvements
• Develop long-term strategies for the Performance team and the organization

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience
• Expert-level proficiency in C++ and a strong understanding of JavaScript
• Proven experience developing performance-critical software
• Ability to use profiling tools like VTune and Xperf to diagnose and fix issues
• Experience with multithreading, concurrency, disk I/O, and GPU
• Track record of setting team goals and driving them to completion
• Strong asynchronous written and verbal communication skills for a distributed team

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Web Standards or patterns
• Familiarity with Android or Windows OS application programming
• Solid understanding of statistics
• Prior experience working on a modern web browser
