Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Firefighter/Paramedic at Fort Irwin, CA to perform a full range of firefighting, medical, and public-safety duties in an ICEMA paramedic scope of practice. Duties include fighting fires, responding to alarms, providing medical care, and supporting prevention education.

Qualifications include U.S. citizenship, HS diploma, formal firefighter training and a current Paramedic certification.

Qualifications

• Must possess sound judgment and common sense in job functions.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal firefighter training and certification required (CSFM, DoD, IFSAC, Pro-Board, or equivalent).
• Current Paramedic certification (ICEMA, National Registry or equivalent) required.
• Pass national background check including drug screening; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Emergency response to fire alarms, rescue calls, and medical emergencies.
• Provide basic and advanced medical care and transport patients as needed.
• Participate in fire prevention and public education activities.
• Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and apparatus; perform routine inspections.
• Engage in ongoing training to maintain and enhance firefighting and medical skills.
• Coordinate with team members and other emergency personnel for effective response.
