Job summary

Akima Intra-Data (AID), an Akima company, invites qualified individuals to join the Fort Irwin Fire Department as Firefighter/Paramedics. You will perform firefighting, EMS, prevention, and education duties across a vast desert training area and base facilities, with emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Responsibilities include responding to alarms, rescuing, transporting patients, maintaining equipment, and continuous training to stay current with best practices.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen capable of passing a national background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal Firefighter training and certification (CSFM/DoD/IFSAC/Pro-Board or equivalent).
• Current Paramedic certification (ICEMA or National Registry).
• Valid state driver's license and ability to read/ follow instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire and medical emergencies with prompt, proactive action.
• Provide fire suppression, EMS care, and public education as needed.
• Laddering, ventilation, and forcible entry operations in hazardous conditions.
• Transport patients when required and ensure safe care en route.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain firefighting equipment and alarms.
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain fire and medical skills.
• Collaborate with other firefighters and emergency personnel for effective response.
