Job summary

City of Oakland Park in Florida is seeking a dedicated firefighter to perform general duty firefighting, rescue, and medical emergency care. You will drive and operate fire apparatus, assist in fire prevention inspections, and participate in training and drills to protect lives and property.

Candidates must hold Florida Firefighter and Paramedic certifications, a valid Florida Driver's license, and complete CPAT/EVOC as required. Broward County residency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Florida Firefighter Certificate at time of application.
• Paramedic certification and valid driver license required.
• Must meet CPR, ACLS, EVOC, PALS/PEPP and CPAT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency alarms and operate firefighting equipment.
• Drive engines and rescue vehicles; perform rescue and salvage operations.
• Participate in fire prevention inspections and training drills.
• Provide emergency medical care as a Paramedic to patients.
