Job summary

Hardee County in Florida is hiring a Firefighter/Paramedic to provide fire suppression, prevention and emergency medical services. The position operates under the general direction of a superior officer and requires readiness for dangerous and stressful conditions with protective equipment.

Responsibilities include responding with necessary equipment, delivering basic and advanced life support, and transporting patients to medical facilities.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of Paramedic experience preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Responds with necessary equipment to medical assistance requests where life is endangered.
• Administers basic and advanced life support at the scene.
• Transports victims to the closest appropriate medical facility per protocol.
• Maintains basic and advanced life support apparatus and equipment.
• Documents patient conditions and treatments; inputs reports into the county system; documents NIFRS reports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
