Job summary

The County of Volusia is seeking Firefighters/Paramedics for the Division of Fire Rescue. This role will suppress, extinguish, and prevent fires; protect life and property; and provide emergency medical and rescue services while maintaining division equipment and facilities.

Minimum requirements include Florida Paramedic and EMT certifications and a valid Florida driver’s license. Selection follows the Rule of Five with a written exam, PAT and interview; starting pay ranges with years of

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements outlined in NFPA 1582 and respirator use per NFPA 1500.

Responsibilities

• Suppression, extinguishment and prevention of fires; protect life and property.
• Deliver emergency medical and rescue services and maintain equipment.
• Operate and inspect fire and EMS vehicles and gear; pumps and hydrants.
• Complete incident reports accurately and timely; maintain records.
• Attend continuing education and drills to maintain certifications.
