Job summary

San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is hiring Firefighter/Paramedics to support community safety with a 48x96 schedule. Candidates must hold a California Paramedic license with ACLS and be at least 18 years old, with a valid CA driver’s license and CPR certification.

College degree preferred and CPAT/PHTLS/ITLS/PALS/PEPP certifications are highly valued. Recruitment closes Oct 1, 2026, for a February 2027 Academy.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid State of California Paramedic license with ACLS certification at time of appointment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED. College degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Must possess a valid California driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the District. Firefighter Endorsement or Commercial driver’s license with applicable endorsements will be required by end of probationary period.
• A current Health Care Provider CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide Firefighter/Paramedic services under the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.
• Respond to emergencies and engage in community safety and training initiatives.
• Participate in projects, committees, training, education, and specialty teams.
