Job summary

The Vallejo Fire Department is actively seeking qualified Firefighter/Paramedic candidates to join its 24/7 operation. Applicants must be on the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center Statewide Eligibility List and hold CPR, CPAT, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and PHTLS/BTLS/ITLS certificates (or equivalent).

EMT-Paramedic license is highly preferred. Selected recruits will train in a fire academy, work a 40-hour schedule during academy and transition to a 56.3-hour week, supporting a department of dedicated

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required for all candidates.
• CPAT card is required before starting training.
• ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and PHTLS/BTLS/ITLS certifications are required or obtained during process.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms and assist in fire suppression and rescue operations.
• Perform equipment maintenance and station readiness.
• Educate the public on fire safety during inspections and outreach.
• Participate in ongoing training and drills during the academy.
