Job summary

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is seeking highly motivated Firefighter/Paramedics who desire to actively support our commitment to providing a high level of service to our community through innovation, training (employees and the community), and cutting edge technology.

We have it all here – residential, commercial, manufacturing, wildland, EMS, not to mention the occasional pet rescue, which will constantly challenge you and enhance your knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid State of California Paramedic license with ACLS certification at time of appointment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; college degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license with acceptable driving record; FF endorsement or CDL may be required by end of probation.
• Current Health Care Provider CPR certification.
• CPAT within last 24 months; CPAT not required for lateral appointments.
• Current PHTLS/ITLS and PALS or PEPP certifications required by time of conditional offer.
• Must reside in California within 200 road miles of the Fire District boundary by academy completion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Firefighter/Paramedic within district operations.
• Participate in training, education, and specialty teams (HazMat, Rescue, CERT, and more).
• Work a 48×96 schedule, with pay differentials for Paramedic/shift assignments.
