Job summary

Village of Tequesta seeks a Firefighter/Paramedic to join the Fire Rescue Department. The role involves 24 hours on, 48 hours off, with extra pay incentives for water rescue and inspection duties.

Qualifications include U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or GED, Florida Firefighter and Paramedic certifications, EVOC, and a clean driving record in the last three years. Candidates must pass physical, swim, ladder, and medical exams and background checks.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with HS diploma or GED required.
• Florida Firefighter and Paramedic certifications required.
• EVOC/CEVO certification and a clean driving record within 3 years.
• No felony convictions in last 7 years; tobacco-free for 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform firefighting tasks including driving apparatus, pumping, hose lines and extinguishment.
• Respond to water rescue, high angle rescue, confined space rescue and heavy rescue.
• Participate in drills and complete documentation of EMS activities.
• Provide EMS care from basic to advanced life support as required.
• Deliver community safety programs and perform routine facility maintenance.
