Job summary

Brevard County Fire Rescue is seeking a Fire Medic (Firefighter/Paramedic) to perform experienced protective service work, including extinguishing fires and providing Advanced Life Support at emergency scenes. The role includes a $7,000 bonus and shift work of 24 hours on, 48 hours off.

Candidates must hold ACLS, a Florida Paramedic certification, and a Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance or Completion, plus a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• ACLS from an approved agency required on written testing.
• Florida Paramedic certification required and maintained during employment.
• Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance or Completion on written testing.
• Valid Florida driver’s license required and maintained.
• CPAT or BPAT physical ability test required.
• CJIS background check and NFPA 1582 fitness standards required.
• Veteran’s Preference points available for qualified veterans.

Responsibilities

• Perform firefighting and emergency medical duties including ALS at scenes.
• Work rotating 24 hours on/48 hours off shifts.
• Respond to fires, medical and rescue incidents with professionalism.
