Job summary

Brevard County Fire Rescue is seeking a Full-Time Firefighter/EMT. Salary is $57,582.52 annually. Advanced initial step placement possible (up to Step 5) for qualifying Florida firefighter experience.

Expect 24 hours on/48 hours off and mandatory pre-employment testing, background checks, and NFPA 1582 physicals. Applicants must hold BLS/CPR, Florida EMT certification, and a Florida Fire Fighter Certificate of Compliance or Letter of Completion on testing date.

Qualifications

• Must possess on the date of written testing a valid BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider.
• Applicants must possess a valid Florida EMT Certification on the date of written testing and maintain it during employment.
• On the date of written testing, Florida State Fire Fighter Certificate of Compliance or Letter of Completion is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform experienced firefighting, fire prevention, and Basic Life Support at emergency scenes.
• Typically requires shift work: 24 hours on/48 hours off.
• Complete pre-employment testing, background checks, and physicals as per NFPA 1582 guidelines.
