Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age at the time of application unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in the Fire and Police Commissioners Act.
• Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or otherwise eligible for examination pursuant to Section 10-2.1-6(a) of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Act (65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6).
• Applicants must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
• Applicants must be licensed and certified as a paramedic by the Illinois Department of Public Health upon hire.
• Applicants must submit a copy of their CPAT + (Ladder Climb Exercise) Certification from a licensed administrator in Illinois dated January 28, 2024 to June 28, 2025.

If you are unable to obtain a copy of the above documentation at the time of submitting your application, you will be required to bring the documentation with you on the day of testing.

STEP 2:

Mandatory Orientation for All Applicants

A mandatory orientation will be held in person on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 7:00 pm.

Check-In commences at 6:00 pm.

Location: Village Hall, 400 Park Avenue, River Forest, IL 60305 - 1st Floor Community Room.

STEP 3:

Written Examination: The minimum passing grade is 70%.

Tuesday, July 1, 2025 beginning at 6:00 pm.
