Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• High School Diploma required
• Three years of Fire Service experience
• SC Class E or CDL license
• NIMS 100/200/700/800 (NIMS 300 within 1 year)
• National Registry EMT
• Emergency Vehicle Driver Training
• Basic Auto Extrication
• Pump Ops II
• Swiftwater Rescue Tech I (within 1 year)
• All SC certifications must be through/approved by SC Fire Academy

Responsibilities

• Performs incident command at fire/emergency scenes; assumes command until relieved
• Fire suppression and EMS lifesaving in the field
• Responds to incidents, provides first aid, searches for trapped individuals
• Maintains facilities, grounds, equipment, and apparatus readiness
