Job summary

The City of Victoria is hiring Firefighter/EMT personnel to respond to fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous situations, while maintaining equipment and participating in prevention and training programs.

Selected applicants will undergo testing; there are incentives including a sign-on bonus and certification bonuses, with lateral-entry consideration for experienced firefighters. This full-time role follows the department's 48/96 shift schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required or preferred depending on experience.
• DSHS EMT-Basic or Paramedic certification and TCFP Basic Structural Fire Protection certification.
• Texas Class B driver's license required within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents.
• Operate and maintain fire and rescue apparatus and equipment.
• Participate in prevention, training, and station maintenance activities.
• Maintain readiness and comply with safety rules and policies.
• Assist in public fire education and community outreach.
