Job summary
The City of Victoria Fire Department is seeking a Firefighter/EMT to respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents. The position includes operating and maintaining fire apparatus, equipment, and participating in prevention, training and station upkeep activities.
Selected applicants will undergo testing and interviews; a video of the Physical Ability Test is available, and a study guide is offered.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- DSHS EMT-Basic or Paramedic certification required.
- Texas Class B driver's license within 1 year of employment.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties relating to fire prevention and suppression, EMS, and hazardous materials incidents.
- Respond to alarms with the assigned company and provide rescue, fire suppression, and water supply; operate pumps and ladders.
- Respond to medical emergencies and vehicle incidents; perform search and rescue as needed.
