Job summary

The City of Victoria's Fire Department is seeking Paramedic Crew Leaders to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, provide advanced medical care, and lead the medical crew in treatment and transport of patients. You will operate and maintain EMS equipment and support fire prevention, training, station, and equipment maintenance activities.

This role requires driving assigned apparatus safely, leading EMS teams on scene, and adhering to protocols and incident management practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 24 hours of college preferred.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Valid Driver License.
• Texas DSHS EMT-Paramedic Certification.
• Paramedic STEP Program and Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) within timeline established by the department.
• Driving record that meets City standards.
• Employment eligibility requires possession of a TDSHS Paramedic Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the medical crew in treatment and transport of patients.
• Operate and maintain EMS equipment.
• Drive assigned apparatus to and from emergency scenes.
• Participate in fire prevention, training, station and equipment maintenance activities.
• Ensure safety and adhere to incident management procedures.
