Job summary

Loudoun County Fire and Rescue in Leesburg, VA seeks qualified applicants for an Accelerated Recruit School to become Firefighter/EMT. Recruits will provide fire suppression, basic and advanced EMS, HazMat response, technical rescue, life safety, and public education, with successful completion leading to station placement.

During Recruit School, the schedule is 40 hours/week; after graduation it transitions to 48 hours/week with a Kelly day, maintaining current pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required by date of hire.
• NFPA 472 HazMat Awareness and Operations required by date of ad closure.
• NFPA 1010 Firefighter I required by date of ad closure.
• NFPA 1010 Firefighter II required by date of ad closure.
• Virginia or National Registry EMT or higher required by date of ad closure.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire suppression and basic/advanced pre-hospital EMS care.
• Respond to HazMat incidents and perform technical rescue operations as trained.
