Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Georgia Firefighter Certification or NPQ I or II Certification Required.
• State of Georgia EMT-A or Paramedic Certification Required.
• Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Responds to medical emergencies and renders medical care per EMT-A level.
• Assists EMS providers and accompanies the ambulance crew to the hospital.
• Inspects IV fluids and drugs for expiration; restocks medical supplies.
• Responds to fires and performs defensive/exterior fire tasks and scene rehab.
• Responds to hazardous materials incidents per training and certification.
• Engages in technical rescues (rope, trench, water, extrication) as trained.
• Maintains daily reports and operates emergency vehicles.
