Glynn County Government’s Fire Rescue in Brunswick, GA seeks a full-time firefighter/EMT to respond to fire and medical emergencies, perform rescue operations, and provide life safety at scenes. The role requires NFPA and EMS certifications, physical endurance, and ability to work 56-hour weeks including nights, weekends and holidays.

Salary ranges from $45,000 to $59,797 annually. Training is provided; benefits include health coverage, holidays, PTO, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+, high school diploma or GED, NFPA 1582 battery

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire suppression, medical emergencies, hazmat incidents, and vehicle accidents.
• Maintains readiness for emergency response.
• Maintains stock of equipment and supplies for fire vehicles and stations.
• Protects life and property; suppresses fires.
• Performs search, rescue, extrication, and forcible entry.
• Performs cleanup activities.
• Drives and operates fire and EMS vehicles and equipment.
• Administers first aid and life support per certification level.
• Inspects buildings for pre-fire plans and fire code compliance.
• Prepares and completes forms and reports.
