Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Georgia Firefighter Certification or NPQ I or II Certification Required.
• State of Georgia EMT-A or Paramedic Certification Required.
• Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Responds to medical emergencies and renders medical care per Georgia EMT-A level.
• Responds to fires and performs defensive fire-related tasks and scene rehab.
• Responds to hazardous materials incidents and assists in mitigation.
• Responds to technical rescues including rope, trench, water, and extrication.
• Inspects equipment daily and maintains readiness, PPE and SCBA.
• Provides BLS and/or ALS services and coordinates care with hospital staff.
• Protects life and property, suppresses fires, conducts search and rescue.
• Composes and maintains daily reports.
• Drives and operates fire/emergency vehicles; plans routes under various conditions.
