Job summary

Gila River Indian Community seeks a Firefighter to respond to fires, emergencies, and hazardous material incidents at the Chandler, AZ location. The role involves operating firefighting equipment, providing emergency medical care, and performing rescue operations on a 56-hour work week.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years of age, and certifications such as Firefighter I & II or NFPA-compliant equivalents; EMT certification is preferred. A CPAT or comparable test may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• EMT certification preferred or required per position.
• Firefighter I & II certification or NFPA-compliant equivalent.
• CPAT or equivalent physical agility test.
• Background check and fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, EMS, and hazardous materials incidents.
• Prospectively extinguish fires and perform rescue operations.
• Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and vehicles.
• Conduct equipment checks and station maintenance.
• Provide Basic/Advanced Life Support within protocols.
• Participate in training to improve firefighting skills.
• Prepare activity records and reports.
• Assist with department operations and community safety.
