Job summary

The State of Florida is seeking a PROGRAM SPECIALIST IV at the Division of State Fire Marshal in Ocala. This role supports fire education programs, curricula, and training compliance within the Fire Standards and Training Bureau.

You will review course offerings, manage training resources, and stay current with firefighting regulations. A Florida firefighter certificate, Instructor II, and Officer II are required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

Two years of professional fire service experience; a postsecondary degree may substitute.
Current State of Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance.
Current State of Florida Instructor II certification.
Current Fire Officer II certification.
A bachelor’s degree in fire science, education, or administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review and approve executive level portfolios and applications; promote safety and compliance.
Manage training resources including materials, equipment, and classroom.
Keep abreast of changes in firefighting tactics, equipment, and regulations; publish results.
Perform other related duties as required by the training section supervisor.
