Kronospan in Anniston, Alabama, is seeking a Fire Technician to coordinate fire and emergency activities for the MDF Boards Plant. The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and develops a simple, effective fire safety program that meets required standards.

This is a day shift position but requires on-call readiness 24/7 for emergencies, equipment failure and alarms. The ideal candidate has strong maintenance experience, reads complex drawings, can operate power

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair procedures.
• Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Ability to write and communicate SOPs.
• High energy, strong work ethic, and problem-solving mindset.
• Able to read complex mechanical/electrical/piping drawings and schematics.
• Capable of working with others to identify and solve manufacturing problems.
• Able to work independently with little supervision.
• Willingness to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs.
• On-call 24/7 and holidays as required.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of firefighting procedures and fire inspections.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.

Job Description

The Fire Technician coordinates all fire and emergency activities for the MDF Boards Plant and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The position is responsible for developing, communicating, and maintaining a simple but effective fire safety program that meets regulated standards. This is a day shift position but is on call 24/7 for emergencies, equipment failure and alarms.

Qualifications:

• Intermediate to advanced experience with electrical / mechanical maintenance and repair procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Ability to write and communicate Standard Operating Procedures
• Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
• The ability to use power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools.
• The ability to read and comprehend complex data including mechanical, electrical, and piping drawings and schematics.
• The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems.
• The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
• The ability to work at heights exceeding 60 feet with the aid of man lifts and/or ladders/platforms
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• The ability to be on call 24/7 and on holidays as required
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of firefighting procedures and fire inspections
• Associate's degree in industrial maintenance, electrical, electronics or related field OR equivalent experience
