Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Project Specialist to support profitable execution of small-dollar Fire Systems Install projects from planning to closeout. The role requires coordinating delivery, directing cross-functional teams, and ensuring schedule, cost, and scope compliance across projects.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Design, and subcontractors, review contracts, and assist with cost estimates to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with equivalent work-related experience or 5+ years in Building Construction Industry.
• Proficiency in project management software and financial accounting systems.
• Experience with MS Project, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of Fire Systems Install projects and guide them from planning through closeout.
• Provide work direction to Engineers, Designers, Technicians, and Subcontractors to keep execution aligned with the contract.
• Manage scope, costs, resources, schedules, risks, billing, and collections to maintain cash flow.
• Review contract terms, prepare cost estimates and proposals, and support customer acceptance.
• Oversee project documents, compliance, and permits in line with codes and JCI standards.
