Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Project Manager to lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects across multiple sectors. You will set up local project offices, define scope, identify risks, allocate resources, and manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

You will coordinate progress, ensure compliance with codes and AHJ/SOX, and drive margin improvements while presenting updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate or diploma in Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic; Security.
• Fire Alarm Systems certification preferred.
• Project Management Professional certification within two years of employment.
• NICET Level II within one year of employment.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Project) and able to create advanced Excel macros.
• Available for frequent local travel.
• Preferred 10 years' installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects in various facilities.
• Set up local project offices, define scope, identify risks, define methodology, allocate resources.
• Manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations.
• Present project updates, cycle details, and expected results to management or customers.
• Ensure projects are closed on time and within scope.
• Coordinate progression from inception to completion including design, permits, materials, labor, and field installation.
• Develop a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets.
• Conduct Work in Progress meetings and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specs.
• Ensure AHJ requirements and departmental/SOX procedures are followed.
• Coordinate change orders and work toward margin improvement on every job.
