Johnson Controls is seeking a field service technician to service Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems and suppression gas systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints and manuals, manage daily service calls, and install or troubleshoot equipment from various manufacturers.

The role requires 1+ year of experience, excellent communication, and strong problem-solving skills. A valid US driver’s license is needed; manufacturer certifications are a plus.

What you will do

• Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems in addition to other related building system products at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Manage daily service call, customer activity and program system products.
• You will work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards.

How you will do it

• Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participation in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.
• Performs inspections of Suppression Gas Systems based on contract requirements.
• Inspect customer systems
• Use of Smart Phone and Equipment

What we look for

• Required 1+ years of experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Outstanding Customer facing service and problem-solving skills
• PC Skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook
• FEL-A Preferred
• Any Manufacturer certifications is a plus; ANSUL, Kiddie PyroChem RMEI and preferred Multi License
• Valid US driver’s license

HIRING HOURLY RANGE:

$$22.59 - $31 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
