Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field service professional to service and repair portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites in Michigan. You will read blueprints and specifications, troubleshoot various manufacturers (including Simplex and ANSUL), and manage daily service calls while coordinating with customers and on-call teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of field experience in building systems and service
• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals and specs
• Certifications such as ANSUL or Kiddie PyroChem are a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems and suppression gas systems at customer sites
• Service, troubleshoot and install various manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and manuals
• Manage daily service calls and customer activity
• Work with clean agent and dry chemical systems and special hazards
• Assist customers with questions in a timely, professional manner
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service
• Inspect suppression gas systems as per contract requirements
• Inspect customer systems at sites
• Use smartphones and equipment relevant to field work

What you will do

• Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems in addition to other related building system products at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Manage daily service call, customer activity and program system products.
• You will work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards.
• How you will do it Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participation in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.
• Performs inspections of Suppression Gas Systems based on contract requirements.
• Inspect customer systems
• Use of Smart Phone and Equipment May include government work.

• PC Skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Preferred Any Manufacturer certifications is a plus; ANSUL, Kiddie PyroChem Local and State license if required.
