Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field service technician to perform service, repairs, and inspections on fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. You will work on wet, dry, pre-action, deluge systems and fire pumps, following established procedures and using technical manuals.

You will read blueprints, complete service requests with proper coding and signatures, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Fire Sprinkler/Pipefitter industry.
• TQP License OR enough hours to obtain.
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
• Occasional paid overnight travel
• Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, repairs and inspections on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial and residential applications.
• Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures, refer to technical manuals, interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and schematics.
• Electronically complete Service Requests with proper coding and obtain customer’s signature.
• Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
